Sort of confused about the Hunger Games?
I haven’t read Catching Fire so please don’t spoil it. When Cato was being mauled by the mutants, why didn’t he die? I know he had the shield or whatever from neck to ankle, but they said the mutants had nails 4 inches sharp. Wouldn’t that kill him if it almost killed Peta when he got cut in the leg area? It doesn’t really make sense. Great book by the way. And also, how did they make the mutants? They never really said. Were their eyes the dead tribute’s old eyes? Were those the old tributes?

I’m not sure why he didn’t die, he probably should have. I’m sure she probably wrote it that way for more suspense, or possibly the armor was thicker than you imagine.

For the mutants, it doesn’t really say whether or not they are the former tributes, but it implies that they are. Katniss describes the eyes as resembling the old tributes so I think some part of them was used to make the mutants. It never really goes into detail because Katniss herself doesn’t understand either.

I personally don’t mind it at all. Especially when the "nickname" is just as commonly used on it’s own anyways. For instance, Tessa. I find this perfectly substantial enough to stand on it’s own. This is the name we just decided on if it’s a girl, and I’m so in love with it! I don’t care for Theresa though, and I’d never name her Theresa just because people think it’s the "right thing to do".

As for some of the others on your list, I’d actually prefer to see them used as nicknames for longer versions.

We have a son named Beau. Not short for Beauregard or Beaumont etc…..just Beau, and I love it. I’ve never one time regretted not giving him a longer name.

I am a single bi man in my 30s lives in a small town. I met a guy online (he is 29) says that he is curious and want to try it all. Sounds like you should get out of that small town, anyway, especially if you want to meet someone. Get out of that relationship with the neighbor right away. He’s never going to give you anything more than sex, but sooner or later you’ll want more and make yourself depressed, or you’ll get caught and find yourself involved in an embarrassing and messy situation.

I think you are taking a big risk, particularly since you work with him. I do not think it is fair to his wife, and she could very likely discover his infidelity, and this could cause the situation to blow up in both your faces. I would suggest you move on. I would suggest that he needs to make up his mind if he wants to live a life of pretense, or be himself. The fact that his wife is overweight has very little to do with his feelings for her on a deeper level.
